Am I missing something???? Surely [the person who removed the anchors] must have better reasons than just these two! I am all for keeping things as natural as possible but let's be rational and logical. Firstly, how can these anchors be said to "change the nature of the route" did we not always pull our rope down anyway? Is the route not finished at this point? Did we not always find some poor tree to rap off or sling and sling and sling and sling again? This seems an extreme view in the extreme. As for making frog more popular with climbers.....that's bullshit. How many climbers decide to climb at a world class place like frog because they now can rap off a chain as opposed to a tree. It is more popular for a million reasons...mainly growth in the sport and it's bitchin climbs. Safety and conservation should not be things to fight against. Without these principles Frog and other areas will one day be taken away like so many already have, all over the world for the same reasons. RM
