Wow - it's the second issue and we're still here!

The feedback from the first issue was 100% positive, and I have included your comments over to the right. If feedback continues, I'll make a page of qurank devoted to letters and discussions.

The best thing about this issue is that I received quite a few contributions. A number of people submitted photos, new routes, and news pieces. You'll also notice the Feature Article of this issue again relates to North Queensland climbing (well, bouldering actually) and was submitted by Steve Baskerville.  Gear Talk this issue is a camming device survey which was done by Anthony Gates. This issue's  Gallery showcases the work of five different photographers. Thanks to everyone who submitted things.

There have been some noteworthy changes to the qurank homepage. Firstly, if you can put up with another stupid popup ad, you can now access qurank simply by typing go.to/qurank into your browser. Try it out! Remember to minimise the Geocities popup banner so you can browse qurank without it popping up on every new page. Secondly, you can now access all qurank back issues from the homepage. There is also a link to subscribe to the qurank discussion list (which is also the Queensland Climbing Discussion List). I would encourage all Queensland climbers to join this email list. Get your climbing friends on it too.

Remember you can always contribute info and new routes by using the link buttons on the homepage.

I'm on the lookout for someone to write a South East Queensland feature article for issue #3 which hits virtual news stands November 1. Got a good story about a route you did, or a trip report or an epic you'd like to recount? If so, get writing.

Happy quranking, enjoy issue #2

Comments on qurank #1

I finally got the issue. It was very excellent... your writing is really good. Thanks for entertaining me during my last week at work!!
-- Neil Monteith

Hi Lee, you're doing a great job and the home page is excellent. Just the sort of place to be when it's raining and no climbing is happening.
-- Clark Montague

Man you have got way too much time on your hands. qurank is just amazing - better than Rock. When you start getting full-on contributions, it will simply rule. Speaking of which, I want to contribute...
-- Steve Baskerville

I really enjoyed the mag especially as I use a cordalette when I climb (mainly at Frog). I live in Toowoomba and also climb at some cliffs at Murphy's Creek. The Toowoomba climbing scene is slowly developing with a core of about 20 climbers who both train at the local gym and also venture outside. Congrats on your first edition - cannot wait for the next issue.
-- Chris Thompson

G'Day Lee, just seen your new on-line magazine. It looks good!
-- Simon

Really great idea, could encourage lots of all-so-rands (like me) to contribute little notes of interest, photos etc, etc. The "average" twice a month lead climber needs recognition toooooo! Would love to contribute some info and pics from our school climbing group!
-- Mike Wren

Just thought I'd let you know that I thought the first issue was great and that I'm looking forward to future issues. You have obviously put a lot of work into it and I reckon this has the potential to be a great resource for the climbers of Queensland.
